Join us as a Charity Shop Duty Manager

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Support Team as the Charity Shop Duty Manager, for our new, soon to open,  permanent Charity Shop, located within the Potteries Shopping centre.

The role involves leading the day-to-day operation of the charity shop, supported by a team of staff and volunteers. Leading the team to deliver excellent customer service, maximise sales income and achieve Gift Aid sales. Providing effective leadership to the team, maintaining high standards of presentation, health and safety and operational efficiency. The Duty Manager will work with the team to achieve retail targets whilst promoting the charity’s mission and values.

Opportunity for Volunteer Trustee at Citizens Advice North Staffordshire!

Our trustees play a vital role in making sure that Citizens Advice North Staffordshire, achieves its core purpose.  

Experience in the following would be advantageous:

– Commercial / business acumen
– Building regulations / premises
– Legal and or financial and third sector governance

Volunteer with us in Leek

We are looking to recruit volunteers to work within our Leek offices.

 

What will you do?

 

● Complete an introduction to Citizens Advice and training for your role

● Talk to clients over the phone, face to face, or online to explore what problems they need support with

● Find information about the clients’ problems and help them to understand their options

● Support clients to take action to resolve their problems. This might include drafting or writing letters, making phone calls, or referring the client to another organisation

● Write a summary of the clients’ problems and what action you’ve taken

● Look out for problems’ that are common, or are unfair, and write a short report about the problem or a letter to an elected official like an MP, AM or local councillor

 

Ideally we ask for 8 hours per week, which can be over one day or spread over two days, for at least 12 months.

 

We can be flexible so please talk to us.
